First days with my puppy

For the past year I have dreamt of getting a puppy. Last week, this dream finally came true. I got a 2 1/2 month old Pomeranian puppy that I named Wally. The past few days with him have been incredible, however that is not to say that it hasn’t been stressful.

Dealing with a puppy is a lot of work, from potty training to visits to the vet it get easily get overwhelming. The most stressful part for me so far has been trying to organize my travel plans with him as different countries have different requirements. Traveling within Europe is pretty simple, however going back home to Brazil can get quite tricky.

From my experience, I would not recommend getting a puppy before he is at least 4 months old and has his rabies vaccination, because it is more of a hassle to have to do it after.

I go to class during the day, so I leave him alone for a couple of hours. He has behaved very well so far and has not done any damage to my furniture. When I get home we play for a bit and then he sleeps. Puppies need a lot of rest, they sleep an average of 18 hours a day.
