PFW: Y/Project Show

I recently had the honor of attending the Y/Project Spring 2024 Ready-to-Wear fashion show in Paris and it was incredible. There were so many amazing pieces in the show, and I loved the garments they displayed because there was a level of artisticness to it without making the clothes too out there and unwearable. I personally would wear most of the pieces I saw at the show.

I also loved the ambiance and location of the show. It took place at an abandoned building and for the show very bright white lights were put in place. There was a very minimalistic aspect to the event however the brand maintained their avant-garde street style appeal.

Like previous Y/Project collections, the foundation of this show was denim made in many different shapes and dyed in intense colors like lavender, acid yellow, and wine red.

Creative director of the brand, Glenn Martens said the inspiration for this collection was the architecture of Bruges. When speaking about the collection to an editor of Vogue he said, “the longer I’m staying away from home the more I’m actually connected. I really kind of envisioned this as like Gothic towers in the middle of the Belgian fields.”
